An eleven year old Jocelynn Rojo Carranza according to CNN reports have been identified to have committed suicide over bullying claims that her parents were in the United States illegally.
In the reports, the deceased Joycelynn committed suicide on February 8 at their home in Gainesville, Texas out of fear that her parents will be deported leaving her all alone in the States. “Another student was taunting her daughter, saying that her family would be deported, and Jocelynn would be left alone” the report indicated.
The eleven year old’s mother, Marbella Carranza during an interaction with CNN officials revealed that she was oblivious to the fact that her daughter was been bullied and was seeking counselling in school until after her death. “After what happened to my daughter, we talked to the investigator to find out more about what had happened to my daughter, because they said it had been due to bullying, but I never knew anything about it” her mother said.
However a concerned parent of the Gainesville Intermediate School where the deceased attended, Jessi Noble confirmed the bullying attacks on Hispanic kids in the school. “People had been telling her friends that were Hispanic that they were getting deported, that ICE was coming for them” she recounted stories her eleven year old daughter tells her when she comes back from school despite the fact her family do not discuss issues of deportation and Immigration status’ in their home.
The reports goes on to indicate that the Gainesville Police Department are investigating issues surrounding the death of the child and bullying allegations levelled up against the school even as parents of the deceased calls out for Justice.
America’s President Donald Trump just after he was inaugurated as president in January this year signed an executive order which included mass deportation of illegal immigrants in the country.
This order has incited so much fear in persons living in America without the required documentation or permit.
