Dr. Bossman Asare, Deputy Chairman of the Electoral Commission (EC) in charge of Corporate Services, has assured the public that the EC is fully prepared for the upcoming elections.
According to Dr. Asare, all necessary preparations have been made to guarantee transparent, free, and fair elections.
“We have just completed the exhibition of the voter’s register, and now the responsibility lies with the Commission to finalize the voter’s register,” he stated.
He also revealed that the EC has recruited nearly 200,000 personnel to operate at approximately 40,653 polling stations nationwide.
Dr. Asare highlighted the electoral schedule, noting that candidates will be required to submit their nominations between September 9 and September 13, 2024.
Following this, the EC will publish the notice of poll, listing the candidates for both parliamentary and presidential elections across all 276 constituencies.
“Next, we will proceed with printing the ballot papers for the elections. From the Electoral Commission’s standpoint, we are fully prepared for a successful, peaceful, transparent, and credible general election,” he affirmed.
Dr. Asare made these comments during an appearance on Joy News on August 30.
