Speaking on her role within the party and government, Mr. Iddrisu said the Vice President possesses the leadership qualities needed to hold the NDC together and guide it with clarity and purpose. According to him, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang’s calm disposition, experience, and broad-based appeal make her a stabilising figure in the party’s internal dynamics.

“Vice President Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang comes to me as someone who can hold the unity of the NDC as a political party and provide leadership,” the Education Minister stated.
Mr. Iddrisu further underscored the Vice President’s national credentials, noting that beyond party politics, she has the competence and standing to govern Ghana. He described her as a seasoned academic and public servant whose contributions to national development speak for themselves.
“The Vice President of the Republic, and arguably, given her standing, she’s very capable of leading the country,” he added.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang, Ghana’s first female Vice President, has earned widespread respect for her academic background, former service as Minister for Education, and her role in shaping policy at the highest level of government. Her leadership style, often characterised as inclusive and consultative, continues to attract commendation from within and outside the NDC.
