The Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) has announced the successful completion of academic fee reimbursements for the 2024/2025 academic year, marking a major milestone under President John Dramani Mahama’s No Fees Stress initiative.In a press release dated December 30, 2025, the Fund disclosed that the reimbursements covered all first-year students of Public Tertiary Institutions who were duly validated for the academic year.
The initiative aims to ease the financial burden on newly admitted students and promote equitable access to higher education across Ghana.According to the SLTF, a total of 178,745 enrolment records were received from public tertiary institutions nationwide. Out of this number, 168,855 students completed their applications successfully. Following a rigorous validation process, 152,698 students were confirmed eligible and have since received their academic fee reimbursements.
To further enhance transparency and accountability, the SLTF has introduced a No Fees Stress (NFS) Status Checker, which allows students to verify their validation and reimbursement status online through the Fund’s official website.
The SLTF reaffirmed its commitment to due diligence and the prudent use of public funds in advancing accessible, inclusive, and equitable tertiary education in Ghana. The Fund emphasized that the reimbursement exercise reflects government’s broader agenda to remove financial barriers that hinder students from pursuing higher education.
