Air Ghana has strengthened its position in the aviation and logistics sector with the addition of a Boeing 737-400 Special Freighter, marking a significant milestone in Ghana’s growing air cargo industry.

The newly acquired aircraft, registered 9G-KCT, safely landed in Accra and has been immediately deployed for charter operations from Kotoka International Airport.
The aircraft becomes the third dedicated freighter in the fleet of Air Ghana, reinforcing its standing as one of the country’s leading air cargo carriers and a key player in West Africa’s aviation logistics ecosystem. Its addition is expected to significantly enhance the airline’s capacity to meet rising cargo demand both within Ghana and across international routes.
According to company officials, the new freighter will provide greater operational flexibility, particularly for urgent charter services and the transportation of high-value, time-sensitive, and specialized cargo. Businesses, freight forwarders, and logistics providers will benefit from improved access to dedicated cargo solutions directly from Accra.
Industry analysts view the development as a strong indicator of growing confidence in Ghana’s aviation and trade sectors. As the country continues to position itself as a regional logistics hub, strengthening air cargo capacity is considered essential for supporting exports such as perishables, pharmaceuticals, industrial equipment, and e-commerce shipments.
