Portuguese football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly been handed a 30-day suspension and fined €255 by the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) following an incident involving his departure from Portugal’s national team camp in Denmark.

The disciplinary decision, announced on October 19, 2026, has attracted attention among football fans, given Ronaldo’s status as Portugal’s captain and one of the most celebrated players in international football.

According to reports, the sanction relates to Ronaldo’s departure from the national team camp in Copenhagen on September 30 after he was reportedly left on the bench during Portugal’s match against Norway.

The 41-year-old forward is said to have disagreed with head coach Jorge Jesus over his role in the team before leaving the camp, triggering disciplinary proceedings.

The Portuguese Football Federation reportedly found Ronaldo guilty of an intentional disciplinary offence under Article 160(1) of its disciplinary regulations, leading to the suspension and financial penalty.

Following the incident, Ronaldo reportedly apologised for his actions and expressed regret over leaving his teammates. He also indicated his willingness to accept the consequences of the decision.

The 30-day suspension could affect his availability for certain football activities, depending on the scope of the disciplinary ruling. However, reports suggest that the sanction is not expected to prevent him from being available for Portugal’s upcoming November fixtures, as part of the suspension has already been served.

Further clarification may be needed regarding the specific matches and activities covered by the ban.

The development comes as Ronaldo continues to play a prominent role in Portuguese football, with fans closely following his international career and his relationship with the national team’s technical leadership.

Despite the controversy, the veteran forward remains a key figure in Portugal’s football history, and attention will now turn to how the disciplinary decision affects his preparations for the country’s upcoming international assignments.
