Access to healthcare depends not only on doctors and medical equipment, but also on getting essential supplies to the facilities and communities that need them. In Ghana, some health facilities serve communities that are difficult to reach, making the transportation of medical equipment and supplies a significant part of healthcare delivery. A new donation from Zonda Tec Ghana Limited is expected to help the Ghana Medical Trust Fund (GMTF) strengthen this important work.
Zonda Tec Ghana has donated a HOWO CNTHC light truck valued at GH¢370,000 to the Fund. The truck will support the transportation of medical equipment and essential supplies to health facilities across the country, particularly those in hard-to-reach communities. By improving the Fund’s capacity to move these items, the donation can help make logistical operations more efficient and support the delivery of specialised healthcare.
The presentation of the truck also reflects the role that partnerships can play in addressing healthcare needs. While public institutions and health organisations carry out essential work, support from businesses and other partners can contribute resources that help extend their reach. In this case, the donated vehicle gives GMTF additional transport capacity for its work with health facilities.
Presenting the truck, Zonda Tec Ghana Chief Executive Officer Yang Yang reaffirmed the company’s commitment to improving healthcare delivery. The donation demonstrates the company’s willingness to contribute to efforts aimed at strengthening access to healthcare in Ghana.
GMTF Administrator Adjoa Obuobia Darko-Opoku expressed appreciation for the gesture. She noted that partnerships such as this help the Fund expand access to specialised healthcare. The truck is expected to assist the Fund in transporting important equipment and supplies to facilities that serve communities throughout the country.
The donation is a practical contribution to the work of improving healthcare access. With the HOWO light truck, GMTF will have additional support for moving supplies and equipment to where they are needed. Zonda Tec Ghana’s contribution highlights how collaboration can help organisations respond to logistical challenges and support better healthcare delivery.
