Okyeame Kwame’s OK Foundation Marks World Hepatitis Day with 14th Free Screening Exercise

Renowned Ghanaian musician Okyeame Kwame has once again demonstrated his commitment to healthcare and social responsibility through his OK Foundation by organizing its 14th annual free Hepatitis B screening exercise at the Dome Market in Accra.

World Hepatitis Day is an annual event celebrated worldwide on 28th July, aimed at educating the public on viral hepatitis and creating awareness of the global and regional burden associated with the disease.

In collaboration with MDS Lancet Laboratories and the Noguchi Memorial Institute, the event offered complimentary screening for Hepatitis B and C, hemoglobin level checks, and malaria testing. Individuals who tested negative for Hepatitis B also received free vaccination. Counseling and support services were provided to those who tested positive.

Associate Professor Kwadwo Asamoah Kusi of the Noguchi Memorial Institute praised Okyeame Kwame’s initiative, citing its progressive impact over the years.

The OK Foundation’s consistent efforts have made a significant difference in raising awareness and combating Hepatitis B in Ghana.
