NDC to Police December Polls — John Mahama

By: Kekeli K. Blamey.

Former President and flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, announced on Saturday that the party is committed to safeguarding every single vote in the upcoming general elections this December.

Mahama emphasized that the party would use all available legal mechanisms to ensure that members monitored the polls for transparent outcomes. He acknowledged past challenges with the Electoral Commission (EC) but mentioned that the party had reasonably composed itself to give the EC the benefit of the doubt.

During the launch of the NDC’s campaign for the 2024 elections in Tamale, Mahama declared that no party member would rest until all ballots were counted.

“Until all the ballots have been counted, none of us will sleep for 48 hours,” he stated.

He further added, “This is an election like no other, and if you say you are in NDC, you better prepare. Everybody is going to volunteer.”

Mahama highlighted the EC’s rule that, once the counting of ballots was completed and the pink sheets were filed, these sheets should be posted on a wall at the polling station. He urged NDC polling station officials and members to ensure that returning officers posted copies of the pink sheets on the walls of the polling stations.

He also encouraged party members to photograph the pink sheets as evidence for future reference.
