PBC Limited Workers Protest Over Year-Long Unpaid Salaries

By: Kekeli K. Blamey

Workers of the Produce Buying Company (PBC) in Ghana have staged a protest at Abeka Junction in Accra due to unpaid salaries. They are marching to the company’s headquarters in Dzorwulu to voice their discontent with management.

Dressed in red and holding placards, the protestors are demanding better working conditions and expressing their frustration over the government’s failure to address twelve months of unpaid salary arrears.

The employees are calling on state agencies to investigate the company’s financial management, urging the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) to scrutinize the status of the company’s sample residue account.

The company had attempted to sell some of its properties, but the Agricultural Development Bank (ADB) and five other banks obtained a court order preventing the sale or transfer of assets, including the company’s headquarters at Number 106 Olusegun Obasanjo Way, Dzorwulu Junction in Accra.
