The Ghana Baptist Convention has officially opened a cutting-edge 36-bed hospital in Abuakwa, located in the Ashanti Region.
Named the Baptist University Medical Center, the facility was inaugurated on Monday, August 26, 2024. While it will primarily cater to students of the Ghana Baptist University, the center will also extend its healthcare services to the general public.
This medical center, made possible with support from the National Baptist Convention of America International Incorporated, is equipped to offer a variety of specialized services. These include eye care, dental services, an Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) department, a Pediatric Specialist Department, a Gynecology department, a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, a state-of-the-art surgical suite, and an imaging department, among others.
Rev. Stephen Kwaku Forkuo, Director of Ghana Baptist Health Services, expressed his deep appreciation to the development partners for their assistance. He emphasized that the facility would greatly enhance healthcare delivery in the region.
Dr. Peter Yeboah, Executive Director of the Christian Health Association of Ghana, praised the Ghana Baptist Convention for this significant initiative. He encouraged the staff at the facility to work with dedication and uphold the center’s high standards.
With its modern equipment and highly skilled medical professionals, the hospital is well-positioned to provide top-tier care to its patients.
