The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has reassured candidates and parents that it is working diligently to release withheld results from the 2024 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
In a statement, WAEC revealed that 33 school candidates and three private candidates have had their results withheld, while 149 schools are under review due to reported irregularities.Mr John Kapi, the Head of Public Affairs, attributed the delays to errors made by supervisors and candidates.
“We appeal to parents and guardians to exercise restraint,” Kapi said. He mentioned that their team is working tirelessly to resolve the issues and release the results.Mr Kapi assured that WAEC is committed to ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the examination process.
“The council will provide updates on the status of the withheld results in due course,” he reiterated.
