Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has made job creation for Ghana’s youth a top priority in his presidential campaign.

He has vowed to work tirelessly to create decent and sustainable jobs, emphasizing that the concerns and aspirations of the youth are his primary focus.

Speaking at the Youth Connect programme in Accra, Dr. Bawumia unveiled a comprehensive vision for job creation, aimed at transforming the Ghanaian economy.

He urged the youth to trust him to protect the public purse and serve them selflessly under his presidency.

Dr. Bawumia’s plan focuses on empowering youth through entrepreneurship and industrialization, with an emphasis on digital economy training.

He aims to train at least one million youth in digital skills to address the country’s unemployment challenges.

The NPP flagbearer has also emphasized the importance of youth involvement in decision-making processes, promising to create an enabling environment for the private sector to generate employment opportunities.

Dr. Bawumia reflected on the economic challenges Ghanaians faced in recent years, particularly the prolonged power outages that plagued the nation during the erstwhile Mahama-led administration.

He recalled how those outages severely impacted productivity across various sectors, leading to widespread job losses.

Dr. Bawumia urged the youth to consider the choice between “past failures” and “renewed leadership” focused on progress and recovery. He reiterated that the voices and ideas of the youth would be integral to shaping his government’s policies.
