Ghana’s education sector is on the cusp of a transformative revolution! On Tuesday, February 4, 2025, an 8-member committee was inaugurated to organize the National Education Forum, marking a significant milestone in the country’s quest for educational excellence.

The committee, appointed by President John Dramani Mahama, was inaugurated by the Hon. Minister of Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, in a ceremony attended by key stakeholders, including Divisional Directors and Unit Heads of the Ghana Education Service (GES). Notably, the Dep. DG for Management Services, Mr. Stephen Kwaku Owusu, is a member of the committee.

The National Education Forum aims to facilitate strategic discussions and policy planning to enhance Ghana’s education sector, ensuring quality and accessibility for all. This initiative is part of the government’s broader efforts to transform the education sector, as outlined in the Education Strategic Plan (2018-2030).

The plan seeks to make Ghana a “learning nation” and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4, which focuses on quality education. With the National Education Forum, Ghana is poised to take a significant leap towards achieving its educational goals and empowering its citizens for a brighter future.
