Ghanaian rapper and songwriter Darlington Agyekum answering to the stage name D-Cryme has advised his colleagues and upcoming music artistes on the essence of having a manager as a musician.
During a media interaction on Adom TV’s Showtym the rapper advised that shedding some responsibilities to managers will help ease the stress of the artiste.
He explained that the manager’s role involves booking appointments, scheduling interviews and other essentials as the musician focuses on making the music.
D-Cryme advised that musicians tune their friends into managers. The rapper believes that music artistes do not necessarily need professional managers but can rather train close friends with the required guidance in order to smoothly manage the artiste’s progress in the music industry.
He further touched on the reason for his silence in the music industry, ” my team and I are brainstorming ” he concluded.
D-Cryme gained nationwide recognition with his first hit single “Kill me shy” which earned the hip life song of the year in the 2012 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
