Deputy Minister designate for Roads and Highways, Alhassan Suhuyini has hinted on the government’s intention to prioritize the construction of untarred roads through out the country.
Speaking before the appointments committee on Wednesday, Feburary 26 the roads minister designate expressed worry concerning untarred roads in the country. “It’s sad that in this era we still have roads that are untarred” he bemoaned.
Notably, Mr. Suhuyini has indicated that prioritizing untarred roads in the country will enable easy access to farmlands and other facilities in the country which will enhance productivity. “The considerations have been high traffic areas, areas with high population, roads leading to agric production areas, farmlands, and all of that. And I think that tourism has also become an area that can attract the need for roads to be prioritised” he elaborated.
He firmly believes that the sector minister, Kwame Agbodza and the president John Dramani Mahama will provide necessary guidance to bring this project to light.
After the interrogation session, the deputy minister designate gifted members of the appointments committee “dagbon smocks” as a sign of grattitude.
