The National Service Authority has revealed its intention to post about 50% of tertiary graduates into private sectors.

The acting executive director of the NSA, Felix Gyamfi during various interactions with the media indicated that the Authority’s target is in the quest to reduce dependency on the government sector.

He stressed on the need to equip tertiary graduates with practical skills which will be seamlessly integrated into the various industries. Mr. Gyamfi believes that posting graduates into these private institutions will enable the Authority align service personnel with real sector demands.

He further hinted on collaborative efforts underway by the NSA and private institutions to ensure placement in the private sectors.

“I have deployed several electronic platforms to make sure that we get to register private sector companies very easily.” Mr. Gyamfi affirmed.

Significantly, he revealed that in the last eight years, only 14% of graduates have been posted into the private sector despite the fact that economy is growing in the private sector (Mr. Gyamfi alleges).

He is positive that there would be equal posting between public and private institutions this year and is further hoping to exceeding the 50% mark in subsequent years.
