Sam George Calls for Retraction and Apology Over P.K Sarpong’s Lexus Post.

Minister of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George has served NPP activist, P.K Sarpong with a Cease to Desist letter ordering him to apologize and retract his facebook post implying that the Minister received a Lexus as a gift, which automatically breaches the recently launched code of conduct for government appointees.

In a facebook post, the activist inscripted, “Dear President John Dramani
Mahama! This top range Lexus your minister for Communications, Sam Dzata George is driving is a gift from someone to him. You recently launched a code of ethics for your appointees to stay away from such things.”

These inscriptions were attached to a video of the Communications minister arriving in a lexus. Moreover, P.K Sarpong’s post instigated that Mr. George has breached the code of conduct thereby calling on the president to take immediate action against him.

Meanwhile, in a response Sam George in a Cease to Desist letter directed to P.K Sarpong through his lawyers stated categorically that the said statement is false.

“Our client has brought to our attention a publication made by you on your Facebook page, in which you falsely allege that Hon. Samuel Nartey George received a Lexus vehicle as a gift-purportedly in violation of a directive issued by H.E. John Dramani Mahama to his ministers. This statement is categorically false.” It read.

The letter is further demanding that P.K Sarpong ceases from making further publications in relation to their client [Sam George]. Additionally, the activist is mandated to pull down the said post from his facebook wall.

Finally, the letter demands that the activist issues a retraction and an apology in the same manner the said false news was disseminated.

“Failure or refusal to comply with these demands will leave us with no option but to initiate legal proceedings against you, including but not limited to a defamation suit, without further notice.” it ended.
