A host of renowned Kumawood actors and actresses gathered in solidarity on Thursday, June 26, 2025, to mourn with their colleague, Komfo Kolegae, during the one-week observance of his late mother, Madam Afia Pokuaa.
The emotional ceremony, held at Santasi Ampatia in the Ashanti Region, saw a massive turnout from the film industry, as well as traditional leaders and sympathisers from across the community. The loss has reopened old wounds for Kolegae, who is still healing from the tragic passing of his wife and unborn child a few years ago.
Notable Kumawood personalities in attendance included Dr. Likee, Nana Yeboah, Louisa, Papa Kumasi, Shifo, and Osoode. Their presence was a strong show of support for Kolegae during this difficult time, reflecting the tight-knit nature of the Kumawood fraternity.
Beyond the film industry, the event was graced by several respected chiefs and queen mothers, who came to offer their condolences and honour the memory of Madam Afia Pokuaa.
It was officially announced that the final funeral rites will take place on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Santasi Ampatia, off the Apire road.
