The Ghana Education Service (GES) has relieved Mr. Charles Akwasi Aidoo, the Assistant Headmaster (Academic) of KNUST Senior High School, of his duties following a viral video that allegedly implicated him in misconduct with a female student.
In a statement dated 29th September 2025 and signed by Mr. Daniel Fenyi, Head of Public Relations at GES, management disclosed that it had taken immediate action to safeguard students’ welfare and uphold the integrity of the teaching profession.
According to the release, Mr. Aidoo has not only been removed from his position but also barred from going to the school premises while a thorough investigation into the matter is carried out.
“Management views this matter with utmost seriousness. In line with our commitment to safeguarding the integrity of the teaching profession and ensuring the safety and welfare of students under our care, Mr. Aidoo has already been removed from office, and prohibited from going to the school while thorough investigations are being carried out,” the statement read.
The GES further assured parents, stakeholders, and the general public that due process will be strictly followed, and appropriate disciplinary measures will be taken in line with its code of conduct.
Reaffirming its stance, the Service emphasized its commitment to professionalism, discipline, and child protection in all schools, while strongly condemning any acts that compromise the safety, dignity, and wellbeing of students.
This development has sparked widespread public discussion, with many commending the swift response by the GES in handling the matter decisively.
