Prospective students can now apply for admission into Ghana’s 46 public Colleges of Education for the 2025/2026 academic year. These institutions offer a four-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree in various specializations, with certificates awarded by their affiliated public universities.
General Admission Requirements.
Entry requirements vary based on applicants’ academic backgrounds:
- WASSCE/SSSCE Applicants
WASSCE candidates must obtain credit passes (A1-C6) in six subjects, including three core subjects English Language, Mathematics, and Integrated Science or Social Studies and three relevant elective subjects.
SSSCE candidates require at least credit passes (A-D) in six subjects, following the same core and elective subject structure.
- GCE Advanced Level Applicants
Candidates must have passes in at least three subjects (one of which should be Grade D or better) and credit passes in five GCE Ordinary Level subjects, including English, Mathematics, and a Science or Social Science subject.
- Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Applicants
Applicants must possess a Certificate II qualification in three relevant trade areas or a National Board for Professional and Technicians Examination (NABPTEX) qualification in a related field.
- Special Entry Requirements for Persons with Disabilities
Visually impaired applicants can access specialized facilities at: N.J. Ahmadiyya College of Education (Wa)
Wesley College of Education (Kumasi)
Presbyterian College of Education (Akropong)
Hearing-impaired students are accommodated at Presbyterian College of Education, Akropong.
How to Apply
Applicants must purchase an e-voucher for GH₵350 from Consolidated Bank Ghana (CBG) or through mobile money platforms such as MTN Mobile Money, Vodafone Cash, and AirtelTigo Money. The application process is entirely online at https://admission.coeportal.edu.gh.
After submission:
Print the completed application form.
Attach a passport-sized photograph.
Send the form via EMS to the principal of the first-choice college.
Admission notifications will be sent via SMS.
