Ghanaian Kumawood actor and comedian, Agya Koo has called on President John Dramani Mahama to complete stalled Creative Arts projects that were initiated by the previous government.
In a writing on his official Twitter (now X) account, the actor expressed grattitude for the president’s keen interest in relations to the Creative Arts Industry in Ghana. “Hello Mr. President John Mahama, I am writing to express my appreciation for the importance of arts and culture in Ghana’s development.” he wrote.
In a humble appeal, the actor requested that the president funded the completion of the stalled Creative Arts projects which was commissioned by the Nana Akufo-Addo government. “I humbly request that you consider continuing the creative art buildings initiated by the previous administration led by @NAkufoAddo.” he added directly mentioning the former president’s X account in his post.
Agya Koo is affirmative that the stalled projects, when completed will help boost Ghana’s Creative Arts industry of which he belongs to. “These projects have the potential to promote Ghana’s cultural heritage, [and] support local artists. Let’s help keep Ghana’s creative spirit alive.” it ended.
This appeal serves as a gentle reminder to President Mahama of his campaign promises to complete stalled projects by the previous government before embarking on new projects.
During one of his campaign trails in 2024 against the general elections, the president promised to see to it that all abandoned projects in the country are completed in order to save the scarce resources in the country.
The likelihood of President Mahama responding to Agya Koo’s appeal will not only serves as a response to the actor’s plea but also a fulfillment of one of his campaign promises – on the basis of which he was voted into power.
