Arnold Asamoah Baidoo Slams Ziega Over Comments on King Promise’s TGMA Win.

Renowned entertainment pundit Arnold Asamoah Baidoo has taken a firm stand against fellow industry commentator Nana Frimpong Ziega following the latter’s controversial remarks about King Promise’s recent win at the 26th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).
During his appearance on the United Showbiz show on UTV, on Saturday, May 24, 2025, Arnold responded to Ziega’s claims that King Promise did not deserve to be named Artiste of the Year, describing the comments as “disrespectful” and harmful to the credibility of the awards.
Arnold, who was absent from the previous week’s episode, addressed the issue head-on, defending the legitimacy of King Promise’s victory.
“The fact that King Promise was nominated means he met the criteria,” Arnold said emphatically. He stressed that such nominations are not handed out lightly and are a reflection of the artist’s significant impact during the year in review.
He further called on Ziega to retract his statement and publicly apologize to the TGMA organizers. According to Arnold, questioning the outcome without basis undermines the integrity of the award scheme, which involves a collaborative decision-making process among the TGMA board, academy, and the voting public.
“If all three blocks agree he deserves it, who are you to say otherwise?” Arnold questioned.
The exchange has sparked conversation within the entertainment industry, highlighting ongoing debates about award processes and public commentary.
