Ato Forson Meets World Bank President to Deepen Partnership for Ghana’s Development.

Ghana’s Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has held a productive meeting with the President of the World Bank Group, Mr. Ajay Banga, to strengthen collaboration and explore new initiatives aimed at accelerating Ghana’s economic growth and transformation.

The high-level meeting, which took place yesterday, focused on reviewing ongoing World Bank supported projects and identifying new areas of cooperation to enhance Ghana’s development agenda.

According to Dr. Forson, the discussions highlighted five strategic sectors where enhanced World Bank support is expected to make the greatest impact Education, Health, Energy, Roads, and Agriculture. These sectors, he noted, are pivotal to driving inclusive growth, improving livelihoods, and positioning Ghana on a sustainable development path.

Dr. Forson was accompanied by the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr. Johnson Asiama, and Ghana’s Ambassador to the United States, H.E. Victor Smith. The delegation emphasized Ghana’s commitment to building a stronger, mutually beneficial relationship with the World Bank Group to unlock investment and technical support for critical national projects.

The Finance Minister reaffirmed the government’s dedication to implementing sound economic policies and development strategies that will deliver tangible results for citizens.

“Together, we are committed to forging stronger partnerships that will deliver tangible benefits for our people and accelerate Ghana’s journey toward inclusive and sustainable development,” Dr. Forson stated.

The meeting marks another significant step in Ghana’s efforts to deepen its ties with international development partners as the country continues to pursue economic recovery and long-term transformation.
