Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has taken his campaign tour to the Western Region, spreading a message of hope and new ideas to consolidate past gains.
He engaged with stakeholders in Mporhor, Wassa, and Jomoro Constituencies, outlining plans to reform the small-scale mining sector and create jobs through a reformed licensing regime.
Dr. Bawumia, during his visit, paid homage to the Traditional Council and Paramount Chief of the Mpohor Traditional Area, Osabarima Kwaw Entsie, seeking blessings and permission to campaign.
The Paramount Chief commended Dr. Bawumia for leading policies that shape lives.
In Mpohor, a mining community, Dr. Bawumia addressed concerns about the mining sector and galamsey control.
Mr George Mireku Duker, the campaign coordinator for Dr Bawumia in the mining areas, assured miners of the presidential candidate’s plans to upgrade their work.
Dr. Bawumia promised support for responsible mining under the Community Mining Scheme.
Dr. Bawumia also engaged with constituents in Doboase, Wassa East, and Amenfi East, presenting his policies to better the lives of Ghanaians.
He emphasized bringing fresh ideas to build on existing initiatives and urged voters to support him and NPP parliamentary candidates in the upcoming December 7 elections.
As part of his campaign, Dr. Bawumia has committed to leading Ghana towards a brighter future, investing in human capital development, embracing the 4th Industrial Revolution, and diversifying the economy.
His noted that his campaign aims to address challenges faced by various groups, including religious leaders, fisherfolk, miners, and youth.
