The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) headquarters in Accra came alive as hundreds of enthusiastic youth organizers from across the country gathered to pick presidential nomination forms for former Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Led by the party’s youth wing, a total of 490 constituency youth organizers from all 16 regions converged at the headquarters in a show of solidarity and support for Dr. Bawumia’s presidential bid. The group presented a cheque of GHS100,000 to NPP officials to cover the cost of the nomination forms.

The youth organizers, many dressed in party colors and chanting campaign slogans, described the move as a demonstration of their unwavering belief in Dr. Bawumia’s vision and leadership for Ghana.

Isaac Obeng, the NPP Youth Organizer for Okaikwei South, declared that recent national developments made Dr. Bawumia the most qualified to lead Ghana.

“Looking at what has happened in the past 7 months, Dr. Bawumia is the only saviour who can rescue the country,” he asserted.

Speaking after the presentation, Dr. Bawumia expressed his deep appreciation to the youth organizers for their commitment and sacrifice.

“490 youth organizers picking nomination forms for me is a remarkable vote of confidence. I am humbled by this overwhelming show of support, and I pledge to work tirelessly to justify your trust,” he said.

The event marks a significant moment in the NPP’s internal politics as the party gears up for its upcoming presidential primaries. Dr. Bawumia, who served as Vice President under President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has been widely tipped as one of the leading contenders to lead the party into the next general elections.

Party officials received the cheque and the forms on behalf of the presidential hopeful, assuring the youth that their message of unity and support had been well noted.

The massive turnout at the headquarters underscores Dr. Bawumia’s strong grassroots backing within the NPP, particularly among the youth, as the party prepares for a fiercely contested primary season.
