Coordinator of the Black Star Experience at the presidency, Rex Owusu Marfo popularly referred to as Rex Omar has stated that the outcome of the initiative will be geared towards creation of jobs and youth empowerment.
During a media interaction on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z show, the musician indicated that the secretarait will be responsible for strategic visionary frameworks that will help in branding and marketing initiatives that would further help rebrand the Ghanaian identity.
He stressed on the fact that the Black Star Experience initiative will collaborate with the ministry of Youth and Employment in order to create more jobs for the active working force of the country thereby empowering them. “so you see, so long as youth empowerment and job creation come in, we have to liase and collaborate with the ministry for youth development and empowerment” he stated.
He further hinted on the infrastructural nature of some of the projects, announcing that the Black Star Experience will have to collaborate more with other sectors either private or public moving forward.
” some of the projects that fall under the Blackstar Experience are infrastructural, so we will be responsible in mobilising investments and also liase with private investors who will also want to partner with us through Public Private Partnership (PPP) to deliver our mandate.” he stated.
He added that the outcome of the series of private and public partnerships will result in brand developments and capacity building in through out various sectors of the tourism and creative out industry. This he said “will help deliver the Black Star Experience seamlessly.”
Notably, the president John Dramani Mahama during his first State of the Nations Address said the Black Stars Experience “aims to establish Ghana as the gateway to Africa for the global diaspora, featuring thoughtfully curated cultural, historical, and creative arts experiences in collaboration with the private sector, diplomatic missions, ministries, departments, and agencies”
To wit, the flagship initiative is geared towards exhibiting Ghana’s rich culture, arts and tourism to other parts of the world.
