Blakk Cedi, a prominent figure in Ghana’s music industry and former manager of dancehall star Stonebwoy, has shared a deeply personal victory — completing his academic program at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) after a 15-year battle marked by setbacks and persistence.
In an emotional Facebook post, Blakk Cedi reflected on the long and difficult road to this achievement. “After 15 years and 3 attempts, I finally submitted my last paper yesterday — and I can’t even explain how PROUD I am of myself right now,” he wrote.
Choosing to return to the classroom while navigating a high-profile career wasn’t an easy decision. He revealed that he took a bold step — stepping back from the spotlight for two full years to focus entirely on his studies.
“It wasn’t easy at all,” he admitted. “I had to make sacrifices, stay disciplined, and push through moments when I wanted to give up.”
What makes this milestone even more powerful is its personal significance. For Blakk Cedi, this was never just about earning a certificate. “This was about proving to myself that I could finish what I started, no matter how long it took.”
He didn’t forget to appreciate the people who stood by him, offering heartfelt thanks to his classmates and lecturers for their support and patience.
Ending with a motivational message for anyone feeling discouraged, he wrote: “If you’re thinking of giving up — DON’T. You’ll thank yourself one day. This is mine. And I earned it.”
