Dr. Bryan Acheampong, Member of Parliament for Abetifi and former Minister for Food and Agriculture, has urged members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to rally around a common vision as the party sets its sights on returning to power in 2028.

Speaking at the NPP Constituency Chairmen Caucus Conference in Kumasi on Saturday, June 21, Dr. Acheampong emphasized the need for cohesion, discipline, and focused leadership to restore the party’s fortunes.

“Victory in 2028 will not come through individual ambition alone—it requires unity of purpose,” he told the packed auditorium, receiving widespread support from party executives in attendance.

While he did not shy away from expressing his own leadership aspirations—stating, “I’m not here to test the waters. I’m here for power”—Acheampong’s larger message centered on party solidarity as the engine for future success.

Drawing on his own journey from grassroots organizer to Cabinet Minister, he underscored the importance of experience, loyalty, and internal collaboration in building a winning political machine.

A constituency chairman present at the event echoed Acheampong’s sentiments, remarking: “This is bigger than just Bryan. It’s about moving forward as a united party.”

The conference, though not an official campaign launch, marked a significant moment in the emerging leadership race within the NPP. Other prominent figures, including Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum and Kennedy Agyapong, have also signaled their interest in leading the party into the next election cycle.

The NPP is expected to select its flagbearer on January 31, 2026, a decision that could shape the trajectory of the party for years to come.
