Former Member of Parliament for Asante-Akim, Andy Appiah Kubi has revealed that former Minister for Trades and Agriculture, Bryan Acheampong will be contesting for the flagbearship race on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party during the upcoming 2028 general elections.
Addressing the media, Andy Appiah Kubi disclosed Dr. Acheampong’s intentions to contest for the race. He disclosed that he [ Andy Appiah Kubi ] is just a spokesperson to the former Trades and Agricultural Minister whilst further asserting that Mr. Acheampong is knowledgable and is in the best capacity to lead the New Patriotic Party.
Aside being a politian and a government official, Mr. Kubi listed some significant achievements by the Former Trades Minister which he deems fit for a presidential candidate.
“He is a competent Ghanaian, He owns the biggest hotel chain in Africa (Rock City Hotel ) and is very generous too. He sponsors the education of a significant number of students at the Achimota School due to his generous nature.
Mr. Appiah Kubi underscored the fact that the New Patriotic Party needed Dr. Acheampong as a unifying force admist the party’s recent state of chaos and division. “It can only take an NPP member to develop Ghana,” Mr. Kubi alleged.
“Out of the confusion in the party, if the NDC does not retain power, we believe we can always do better with Hon. Dr Bryan Acheampong as the Championing force” he added.
He further concluded that, Dr. Acheampong poses dual competencies deem fit to lead the party and the country at large. He revealed that the prospective NPP flag bearer ahead of the 2028 general is both a business mogul and an academician.
“We a killing two birds with a stone. He [Bryan Acheampong ] is a symbol of victory. Andy Appiah Kubi concluded on his remark.
Meanwhile some notable personalities in the New Patriotic Party have also renewed their intention to contest as flagebear on the ticket of the party. Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Former Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapomg are amongst these notable personalities.
