Key stakeholders in the creative industry gathered at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra to launch the ‘Live The Music’ initiative, organized by Lynx Entertainment. The program aims to foster collaboration among creatives to highlight and promote Africa’s unique cultural identity.
Richie Mensah, CEO of Lynx Group of Companies, emphasized that the misrepresentation of African values is a result of locals not telling their own stories. He called on industry players to join the Lynx family in reclaiming and celebrating Ghana’s artistic heritage. The initiative also encompasses various elements of the entertainment industry, including art, dance, and fashion.
Godwin Tom, Head of Sony Music Publishing in West Africa, also addressed the gathering, encouraging industry professionals to take ownership of local music catalogs to ensure the culture’s sustainability.
Lynx Entertainment describes “Live The Music” not just as a campaign but as a movement aimed at transforming how Ghanaians perceive and experience music and art by engaging all segments of society in appreciating the country’s rich cultural heritage.
