Dr. Bryan Acheampong: “The Strength of NPP Has Never Come from Division”.

Flagbearer aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Bryan Acheampong, has called for unity, discipline, and dignity within the party as it prepares for its upcoming presidential primaries.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, the Abetifi lawmaker addressed what he described as a wave of misinformation and personal attacks targeted at him. According to him, these tactics only undermine the party’s cohesion and the values it stands for.

“The strength of our great party, the NPP, has never come from division. It has always come from discipline, dignity, and unity,” Dr. Acheampong stressed. “Yes, I have come under a barrage of attacks. Falsehoods have been spread about me. Fake materials have been shared to question my character. But through it all, I remain focused, not on retaliation, but on restoration.”

He emphasized that the contest for flagbearer should be seen as a battle of ideas and leadership rather than a platform for personal attacks. He urged his supporters to avoid using harsh language or circulating falsehoods, saying such actions only mirror the tactics of detractors.

“I respectfully call on all who support me to refrain from intemperate language, personal attacks, and the circulation of false materials. Let us not mirror the tactics we seek to rise above,” he appealed.

Positioning his campaign as a movement bigger than politics, Dr. Acheampong underscored that his ambition is not just about winning the flagbearership, but about renewing the values of unity, service, and development that make the NPP strong.

“We are building something far greater than a campaign. We are building a movement to unite and rebuild our beloved New Patriotic Party. Let our words heal, not harm. Let our actions inspire, not inflame. Let our conduct reflect the future we are determined to lead. Together, we unite. Together, we rebuild,” he declared.

His message comes at a critical time when analysts and party faithful alike warn that internal divisions could hurt the NPP’s chances of retaining power in the 2028 general elections. Dr. Acheampong’s call for restraint, mutual respect, and issue-based campaigning is therefore seen as an attempt to rally the party around a common vision.
