“Duduke Doesn’t Mean Anything” – Simi tells Fans to Stop Calling her Daughter Duduke.

Nigerian singer and songwriter, Simisola Bolatito Kosoko has voiced out her concerns regarding her fandoms calling her daughter “duduke” -the title of her 2020 hit song.

The artist during an interaction with media personality, VJ Adams elaborated that the name Duduke does not wield any significant meaning but it is rather the beat of drums that was personified into the lyrics of her music.

Simi underscored the fact that despite her believe that the ‘Duduke name calling’ comes with good intentions, she wants fans to refrain from the act. “People call my daughter Duduke, which I don’t like. That’s not her name. It doesn’t even mean anything” the singer said.

“Had it meant something good, I would have allowed it. But it’s just a beat, duduke, duduke. That was what I meant; my heart beats like a drum. she further elaborated.

Simi released duduke in 2020 whilst she expecting her first child, Adejare. The singer dedicated the song to her unborn child expressing her genuine love for her and her earnest wish to see her [once she delivers].

Simi is married to a colleague singer, Adekunle Gold in a private marriage ceremony in 2019 with a daughter who is affectionately referred to as “Duduke”
