Florence Obinim has reportedly made several financial and property demands in her divorce proceedings against her estranged husband, Bishop Daniel Obinim, founder of the International God’s Way Church.
The reported demands include GH¢20 million, several properties and monthly medical support of GH¢10,000, according to details Bishop Obinim read from what appeared to be a court document during a church service on October 13, 2026.
In a video circulating online, the controversial preacher was seen addressing the demands at his church’s Tema branch, expressing anger over the items allegedly being sought by his estranged wife.
Among the properties mentioned were an apartment complex, a property at House Number 99 Nii Kwei Mensah Street, the Abroso guesthouse, which was recently gutted by fire, and a residence in Barcelona, Spain.
Bishop Obinim also claimed that Florence was requesting GH¢10,000 monthly to cover medical expenses in the event of illness, in addition to financial assistance for hospitalisation.
The church building belonging to the International God’s Way Church in Tema was also listed among the properties he claimed his estranged wife was seeking, alongside other reliefs that could be determined by the court.
Reacting to the reported demands, Obinim used harsh words to describe Florence, reportedly calling her “sick in her head” as he expressed his displeasure with the claims outlined in the document.
However, reports about the amount Florence is seeking have varied, with some accounts putting the main financial demand at GH¢20 million. The claims are yet to be independently established through the full court documents, and the final outcome will depend on the proceedings.
Background to the Marriage Dispute
The reported divorce proceedings follow months of public tension between the couple, who have been married for more than two decades and have three children together.
In June 2026, Florence told GHPage that she was prepared to accept a divorce if her husband wanted to end their marriage. She also expressed disappointment over what she considered a lack of appreciation for her patience and sacrifices throughout their relationship.
In September, reports emerged that her family had returned the traditional marriage drinks, a development widely interpreted as a step towards ending the marriage under customary practices.
Obinim subsequently said he had accepted the drinks and instructed Florence to stop using his surname.
The dispute attracted further public attention after an audio recording surfaced in September, in which the pastor accused Florence of neglecting certain household responsibilities. He also admitted to having relationships with other women during their marriage.
The latest developments have renewed public interest in the breakdown of the couple’s long-standing marriage, with attention now focused on the reported financial and property claims and the eventual outcome of the divorce proceedings.
As the matter continues to attract public discussion, the reported demands remain allegations attributed to Obinim’s account of the document. The court’s final determination, including any financial or property orders, will be necessary to establish the outcome of the case.
