Former Appointees Must Present Themselves for Accountability – Akufo Addo

Former president, Nana Akufo Addo has urged his former appointees to avail themselves for accountability and to willingly provide information on any ongoing investigations conducted by the ruling government.

Speaking on Joynews’ PM express yesterday, the New patriotic party’s communication director, Richard Ahiagbah echoed the presidents words to the general public. He hinted on the party’s commitment to staying accountable to the state in every situation.

Mr. Ahiagbah in furtherance revealed that the party’s major priority is on winning the next general elections citing that matters of accountability should not be a bother. “Our preoccupation is how we get our party situated and contest the 2028 election. Matters to do with accountability, your people will be here to answer the questions” he affirmed.

The presidents call on his former appointees to present themselves for accountability comes at the back of the Office of the Special Prosecutor declaring former finance minister, Ken Ofori Atta a fugitive over his failure to present himself for accountability.

Legal counsel of the former finance minister had indicated that Mr. Ofori Atta was seeking medical attention overseas hence his absence.

Conclusively, the former finance minister have been taken off the OSP’s wanted list after his legal counsel provided a definite date of his return to the county for interrogation.
