Garage Lounge and Bar, one of Ghana’s bustling nightlife destinations have announced its indefinite shutdown after years of consistent nightlife magic and entertainment.
The Lounge, located at East legon within the hearts of the city Accra has been operating for five and a half years since its commencement. The garage lounge serves as an abode of night time entertainment with various notable personalities and celebrities visiting or renting the space to deliver unforgettable massive concerts occasionally.
Yesterday, June 19, 2025 management of the vibrant spot for entertainment announced an end to its operations come Sunday, June 29. In the social media post captioned “end of era” the management expressed deep appreciation to everyone who has ever interacted with the Garage Lounge in one way or the other.
“We’ve hosted thousands of nights, countless cheers and built a community we’ll never forget. To everyone who ever drank, danced, celebrated, worked, performed or found themselves at Garage, Thank you. It wrote expressing gratitude.
Netizens across various social media platforms have since yesterday reacted to the post with grief and disappointment at the abrupt closure of the lounge. Whilst others reminisce their good times at the Garage Lounge Bar, others call for an extension in order to experience the nightlife experience before it finally shuts down.
The post about the closure which was captioned; “After an incredible journey, the time has come for us to say goodbye. Thank you for the memories, the music, and the magic. Garage is officially closing its doors.” cleary indicates that the abrupt shut down is real and not a prank.
However, the lounge have decided to share a final time with all night life lovers come sunday June 29, as a fare well. “We came, we saw, we conquered” it ended.
Meanwhile, management of the Garage Lounge and Bar has not also revealed the intentions behind the closure.
