Ghana’s Education Service has crossed that the circulation of fake recruitment and appointments letters all over social media platforms purporting that the Education Service is currently hiring trained teachers.

The circulation begun after the sector minister, Dr. Haruna Iddrisu shared on the floor of parliament on Wednesday June, 25 that GES will commence recruitment of 50,000 teachers and 10,000 non-teaching staff.

Due to the negative traction caused by scammers upon receiving the said information, Public Relations Officer of the GES, Daniel Fenyi in a release have cautioned the general public to disregard such recruitment advertisements. “GES would be recruiting about 50,000 teachers and 10,000 non-teaching staff. This is fact and true. However, Management wishes to inform the general public that this recruitment process is yet to commence.” the release recorded.

Subsequently, he added that when recruitment commences, trained teachers and non teachers are not expected to pay a dime through out the process. He touched on this due to the fraudulent activities taking place online where individuals charge applicants some fees in order to process their applications. “GES recruitments are completely FREE. No individuals or groups are permitted to charge
applicants any fee whatsoever for recruitment, processing, or issuance of appointment letters” it registered.

Mr. Fenyi advised that prospective applicants and the entire public should monitor officials GES channels, the National newspapers and credible media outlets for updates on recruitments and appointments for teaching and non teaching staff.

He further encouraged the public to report individuals currently engaged in recruitment advertisements – stating that their sole intentions is to scam applicants.
