Ghana Mourns the Loss of Legendary Musician Daddy Lumba.

The Ghanaian music fraternity and the nation at large have been plunged into mourning following the confirmed passing of the iconic highlife musician, Charles Kojo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba.

News of his death first began circulating online in the early hours of Saturday, July 26, 2025. While many fans and industry stakeholders initially dismissed the reports as a hoax, speculation continued to swirl across social media platforms. The uncertainty was finally laid to rest later in the afternoon when the Fosu family released an official statement confirming the heartbreaking news.

According to the press release, Daddy Lumba passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025, after a short illness. The announcement, signed by Fati Ali Yallah, Esq., Counsel for the Fosu Family at Baba Jamal & Associates, described the legendary musician as more than just an entertainer — he was a cultural icon whose music touched countless lives.
