The Nursing and Midwifery Council has partnered with the Ghana – Diaspora Nursing alliance (G-DNA) and DataFlow to facilitate the registration of diaspora nurses, enabling them to contribute to Ghana’s healthcare system.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on January 6, 2025 at the Nursing and Midwifery Council headquarters in Accra enabling Ghanaian nurses abroad who wish to return to the country to work as nurses or lecturers.
In essence, the Registrar of the Council, Mrs Philomena Woolley, noted that the move was significant as she acknowledged some supports received from diaspora nurses to various hospitals in Ghana. ” Our aim is to get many nurses into the country to augment the work of our nurses and give back to their country,” she stated.
She further revealed that the verification process will be rapid indicating that each will not exceed a 25 days period.
