“I Never Met My Dad, I Only Saw His Obituary Poster” – Miracles Aboagye Shares Emotional Story

Dennis Miracles Aboagye, a presidential staffer and close aide to former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has offered a rare glimpse into his personal life, revealing a deeply emotional chapter of his childhood growing up without ever meeting his biological father.

Speaking in an interview on The Upside Down Show on Channel One TV, Aboagye recounted the poignant moment he first learned about his father’s existence and his death.

“I never met my dad. I don’t know what happened, but at some point in my life, I had to ask,” he said, his voice tinged with both reflection and quiet strength.

According to Aboagye, he grew up in a communal setting where every adult played the role of a parent. That environment, while nurturing in many ways, also delayed the questions he would eventually begin to ask about his own roots.

“The environment in which I grew up, everybody was a child’s parent. But I think at a point, I remember asking,” he said.

It wasn’t until last year that Aboagye stumbled upon the truth in the most unexpected and heartbreaking way through an obituary poster.

“I saw his obituary poster. That was how I knew he was dead,” he said, pausing as the weight of the revelation hung in the air.

His story sheds light on the silent struggles many children face in communities where single parenting or absent fathers are common but rarely discussed. It also underscores the resilience of individuals like Aboagye, who rise through personal pain to serve their nation.

Now a prominent voice in Ghana’s political landscape, Aboagye’s revelation is not just a story of loss, but one of strength, identity, and the search for belonging.

In sharing his experience publicly, Aboagye hopes to inspire others facing similar circumstances to remain strong and seek healing, no matter how long it takes.

His story is a powerful reminder that behind every public figure is a personal history one that shapes, strengthens, and sometimes scars but ultimately defines who they are.
