Ghanaian highlife musician, Famaye has disclosed that his outstanding performance witnessed during the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) on May 10, this year amounted to around $15,000.
Speaking on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz, the highlife musician disclosed that he believes he was amongst the few artist who spent so much that particular evening. “I’m sure I’m one of the few artistes that spent much on that night. We spent a lot, it was over 15,000 dollars because we had to sew costumes for myself and the dancers, build the set and props, pay the directors, and everything” he calculated briefly.
He however revealed that the cost incurred was included in TGMA’s budget ahead of the show.

Aside spending so much, the highlife musician revealed that he did not enjoy his performance that day. The artist detailed out some technical challenges he encountered on set which hindered his performance from being adjudged as one of the best performances for the evening .
“We had a preset and it was supposed to be played that day. What I was supposed to hear was different from what the audience was supposed to hear.” he stated.
Fameye went on to say that “But nothing was played and I was waiting for my in-ear to play but it didn’t happen, my band was not hearing anything” he said adding on that this challenge forced him to move with the crowd thus affecting his performance.
The “very soon” composer was awarded the highlife artist of the year in the just just ended TGMA awards and has won many other significant awards.
