Popular radio personality Nana Romeo has officially joined the prestigious Despite Media Group as the new drive time host of Okay FM. Marking his first day on the job, Nana Romeo did not hold back his excitement and gratitude, openly declaring that working with the Despite Media brand has been a long-held dream.
“I’ve always wanted to work at Despite Media,” Nana Romeo said, beaming with enthusiasm as he took his seat behind the console on Monday afternoon. “It’s a dream come true for me. The platform, the reach, and the impact this media house has built over the years is something I’ve admired for a long time.”
As he settled into the Okay FM studios, Nana Romeo expressed profound respect for the legacy of the Despite Media Group and its role in shaping Ghana’s media landscape. “Despite Media represents excellence in broadcasting,” he said. “Joining this family is both an honor and a responsibility. I’m ready to give my best.”
His first day on air was not only filled with emotion but also marked by a heartwarming show of support from the entertainment community. A host of Ghanaian celebrities and industry figures passed through the studio to welcome him officially. The legendary music group Praye, gospel singer Diana Asamoah, social media influencer and actress Akuapem Poloo, and artiste manager Bullgod of Bullhaus Entertainment were among the surprise guests who showed up to celebrate this new chapter with him.
“It was such a blessed moment,” Nana Romeo remarked after the show. “To see these personalities come through to support me means the world. It just shows the kind of unity and love we have in this industry.”
Listeners and fans took to social media to welcome him, with many expressing excitement about what he will bring to the drive time slot. Known for his engaging presence and fearless interviews, many anticipate that Nana Romeo will inject fresh energy into the show and attract an even wider audience.
Despite Media Group, which owns Okay FM, Peace FM, Neat FM, UTV, and other media properties, has long been considered one of Ghana’s top media conglomerates. The addition of Nana Romeo is seen as a strategic move to strengthen Okay FM’s position in Accra’s competitive radio scene.
