American rapper and record executive Jay-Z has filed a law suit against woman who accused him of sexual harassment and rape and her lawyers for defamation.
The lawsuit according to media reports have indicated that Jay Z’s woman accuser have voluntarily admitted to lawyers of the rapper that the Jay-Z did not assault her. It said the woman pinned the blame on her lawyer, Buzbee who coerced her into making such allegations.
The rapper on Monday, March 3 filed the lawsuit suit against the woman and her lawyer for fabricating rape allegations against him as a platform to extort settlements from him. “Mr. Carter does not commence this action lightly…But the extortion and abuse of Mr. Carter by Doe and her lawyers must stop.” the lawsuit demanded.
Meanwhile a statement by the woman’s lawyer to billboard; an official website for publishing writings on artists in the New York city denied allegations presented in the rapper’s lawsuit.
Some portions of his [lawyer] statement read “This case is baloney and has no legal merit. Shawn Carter’s investigators have repeatedly harassed, threatened and harangued this poor woman for weeks trying to intimidate her and make her recant her story. She won’t. Instead she has stated repeatedly she stands by her claims. These same group of investigators have been caught on tape offering to pay people to sue me and my firm.”
The lawyer believes Jay-Z whose real name is Shawn Carter’s lawsuit is yet another attempt to bully and harass his client. He assures billboard in the statement that his team are working to ‘deal’ with the case .
The rape case was initially filed against Jay-Z and Diddy Combs for sexual assault when the accuser was thirteen years old. However the case was dropped in February last month without any interpretations into reasons for dropping the case.
The rapper described the rape lawsuit as a form of “malicious prosecution” with intentions of duping him. “When they quickly realize that the money grab is going to fail, they get to walk away with no repercussions. The system has failed” he added.
