Americans 46th president, Joe Biden has been diagnosed of an aggressive stage of prostate cancer which has spread into his bones.
Media reports have indicated that Americans former president received news about his current medical condition on Friday, May 16 after he saw a doctor for urinary symptoms.
In an official statement from Joe Biden’s office yesterday, the president was reported to have been facing “increasing urinary symptoms” which led to the diagnose of “high-grade” prostrate cancer per doctor’s reports. “On Friday, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, characterised by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) with metastasis to the bone.” the stated revealed.
Despite the critical nature of Biden’s condition, the statement assured that his condition can be managed effectively, “While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive which allows for effective management” it added.
Significantly, President of the United States, Donald Trump in a write up on his social media channel expressed his well wishes to the former president. “Melania and I are saddened to hear about Joe Biden’s recent medical diagnosis. We extend our warmest and best wishes to Jill and the family, and we wish Joe a fast and successful recovery” he wrote in truth social.
In relation, former vice president for the United States also expressed her well wishes to the former president. “Doug and I are saddened to learn of President Biden’s prostate cancer diagnosis. We are keeping him, Dr. Biden, and their entire family in our hearts and prayers during this time” she wrote on her X platform, formerly twitter.
She expressed confidence in the former president’s spirit of resilience and she is positive Joe Biden will recover soon. “Joe is a fighter — and I know he will face this challenge with the same strength, resilience, and optimism that have always defined his life and leadership. We are hopeful for a full and speedy recovery” she added.
CNN reports have indicated that cancer has been a ‘personal issue’ to Joe Biden. Reports have indicated that his “son Beau, an Iraq War veteran and former Delaware attorney general, died of brain cancer in 2015 at age 46.”
Biden is now 82 and battles with battles with the aggressive form of prostate cancer. The family together with Biden are reveiwing treatment options and are hoping for a speedy recovery.
