Member of Parliament for the Awayaso West Wougon who doubles as deputy agriculture minister designate John Setor Dumelo has pledged allegiance to the creative arts industry despite his current nomination into the agricultural sector.
The actor, during his speech at Celestine Donkor’s 11th Celestial Praiz concert on Thursday, February 6, 2025 emphasised on the benefits of arts in our daily lives. “Some people disregard the arts economy but when we are all stressed we listen to songs, we watch movies, we read or we go on ticktock and we go watch skits, but it’s all part of life” he explained.
He further assured that despite his now vibrant roles in Ghanaian politics, he would not neglect the creative arts industry where he ‘came from’.”Despite the fact that I am an MP now and I am in the Agric Ministry, I still will not forget where I came from which is the arts sector and I will always be an arts person.”
John Setor Dumelo is a Ghanaian actor but has featured in some top Nigerian Nelflix films like ‘blood vessel’, He won the parliamentary seat for the Awayaso West Wougon Constituency in the just ended 2024 general elections and he has recently been nominated as deputy minister for food and Agriculture designate.
