Her Ladyship Justice Dorinda Smith Arthur of the Kumasi High Court has encouraged Akosua Serwaa and Priscilla Ofori, popularly known as “Odo Broni,” to settle their differences amicably outside the courtroom, emphasizing that the court should be the last resort if all reconciliation efforts fail.
The case, which was heard yesterday, has been adjourned to October 28, 2025. It involves a dispute over the right to perform widowhood rites and participate in funeral arrangements for the late musician.

Akosua Serwaa is seeking a declaration from the court recognizing her as the only surviving spouse of the deceased and the sole person entitled to perform the widowhood rites at the funeral, which is scheduled to take place on December 6, 2025, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
The legal action also names Kofi Owusu Fosu, head of the late musician’s external family, and Odo Broni as respondents, with the suit potentially affecting the planned funeral activities if not resolved before the scheduled date.
Justice Smith Arthur’s call for peace highlights the court’s desire for a harmonious settlement to avoid further tension ahead of the high-profile funeral.
