In a parliamentary session yesterday, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, the Ranking Member on the Health Committee, reassured the public and health professionals that the appointments of health workers who followed the proper recruitment procedures remain intact and have not been revoked.

Addressing concerns on the floor of Parliament, Akandoh emphasized that there is no cause for alarm regarding the employment status of health workers who were legally and appropriately appointed. His statement comes in response to speculations and anxieties within the health sector about the potential revocation of appointments.

Akandoh stated unequivocally that any health worker who secured employment through the correct channels has no reason to fear job loss. He also urged stakeholders in the sector to remain focused on their duties and avoid unnecessary panic caused by misinformation.

This assurance is expected to bring relief to many health professionals who have been concerned about the security of their jobs amid recent discussions on employment within the sector. Akandoh further called on the government to prioritize the welfare of health workers, ensuring that policies and administrative decisions support their efforts in delivering quality healthcare services to the nation.

As the debate on employment within the health sector continues, his remarks have provided much-needed clarity and assurance to workers and the general public alike.
