Kweku Darlington Reveals Spiritual Battle Behind Musical Hiatus

Ghanaian rapper and songwriter Kweku Darlington has opened up about the challenges that forced him to take a year-long break from the music scene.

In a recent interview on JoyPrime TV, the “Sika Aba Fie” hitmaker disclosed that he was the victim of a spiritual attack orchestrated by friends who later became his enemies, intent on ending his career. He described this ordeal as being “spiritually buried.”

Darlington recounted that the attack stemmed from a conflict between him and two former friends, which escalated into a severe spiritual assault.

“I was completely out of commission last year. Things got really bad—I had friends who turned against me and resorted to juju. It was crazy, and that’s why you didn’t hear anything from me during that time. My health deteriorated to the point where I couldn’t even leave the house,” he explained. “The goal was to keep me hidden away, because I’m a force to be reckoned with when I’m out there making music.”

He added, “It felt like I was buried alive, with only my head above ground. I was sick the entire year, unable to eat, and my mother was constantly in tears.”

Despite seeking help from various hospitals and herbalists, nothing worked until he sought refuge with his Christian fellowship at the Atwea Mountains, where he finally found relief through divine intervention.

“It wasn’t something medical—it was spiritual. It started with my eyes, and despite all the medical treatments, nothing helped. It wasn’t until I joined my congregation at the Atwea Mountains that they identified what was wrong. We had to address the spiritual issues before any medical treatment could take effect,” he revealed.

Darlington further explained that the conflict that triggered this ordeal was a misunderstanding between him and two friends—a male and a female—which he initially dismissed as trivial.
