Mahama Names New Team to Drive Ghana’s Development Agenda.

President John Dramani Mahama has taken a significant step towards enhancing governance and addressing key developmental challenges in Ghana. On Thursday, January 16, 2025, he submitted a second batch of nominations for Regional and Sector Ministers to Parliament.

Regional Ministers:

●Western North Region – Wilbert Petty Brentum

●Central Region – Eduamoah Ekow Panyin Okyere

● Western Region – Joseph Nelson

These nominees will work closely with local authorities to tackle regional challenges, foster development, and enhance service delivery in their respective areas.

Ministers of State:

●Ministry of Roads and Highways_ Kwame Governs Agbodza (MP)

●Ministry of Food and Agriculture – Eric Opoku (MP)

●Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection – Agnes Naa Momo Lartey (MP)

●Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts-Abla Dzifa Gomashie (MP)

●Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture – Emelia Arthur (MP)

●Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment – George Opare-Addo

●Ministry of Education – Haruna Iddrisu (MP)

●Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs – Ahmed Ibrahim (MP)

●Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry – Elizabeth Ofosu Adjare (MP)

President Mahama’s selections emphasize his administration’s focus on addressing critical areas such as infrastructure, education, agriculture, and gender equality. Each nominee brings a wealth of experience and expertise to their role, ensuring a focused approach to the nation’s developmental priorities.

The nominations have been forwarded to Parliament for vetting and approval. Once approved, the appointees will assume their roles and begin implementing the President’s vision for a prosperous Ghana. This second batch of appointments highlights President Mahama’s inclusive governance approach, ensuring a diverse team is in place to address national and regional challenges effectively.
