Mahama Vows to Tackle Corruption, Unveils Bold Measures for Development.

President John Dramani Mahama has reiterated his commitment to accountability, promising that all cases of corruption will be thoroughly investigated and prosecuted once evidence is secured. He made this pledge yesterday during a media engagement at the Jubilee House as part of his second term in office.

“While due process may provide temporary relief to those who have looted, it will not shield them from permanent justice,” President Mahama declared, assuring Ghanaians that his government will not relent in the fight against corruption.

On education, the President revealed that over six million sanitary pads have been distributed to girls in primary and secondary schools across the country. The intervention, he explained, is part of efforts to curb period poverty and keep young girls in school.

“We are determined to ensure that no girl child drops out of school because of menstruation. Education is a right, not a privilege,” he emphasized.

Turning to flagship policies, President Mahama highlighted government’s continued investment in Free Senior High School (SHS), announcing that GHC 3.5 billion has been allocated to strengthen the policy and improve quality delivery.

In a major policy development, he disclosed that Cabinet has approved the 24-Hour Authority Bill, which has now been laid before Parliament. The bill, he noted, marks a crucial step towards implementing the proposed 24-hour economy aimed at boosting productivity, creating jobs, and transforming Ghana’s economic landscape.

“Ghana must move into a new era of productivity. The 24-hour economy will drive industrial growth, expand employment opportunities, and ensure that our economy works for everyone,” President Mahama said.

Outlining his broader vision, the President stressed that his administration is focused on bold, job-creating initiatives designed to build a more resilient and inclusive economy.

As Ghana faces challenges in governance, education, and job creation, President Mahama’s reassurances at the media engagement signal a renewed push for reforms, accountability, and transformational policies in his second term.
